Challenge — By 2019, Adelaide Airport had crystallised a 50-year-long vision for the future of their traveller experience and business precincts. As the terminal expansion project commenced, Adelaide Airport called upon trusted partner, WO, to share its vision with the world.

The Welcome Gates designed by WO have been a mainstay at Adelaide Airport for years.

Strategy
Having extensive experience with Adelaide Airport’s various projects, WO collaborated with writers, photographers, filmmakers, audio engineers, and airport staff to produce a three-minute video that captured the essence of the new development, including the Atura Hotel, the terminal expansion construction site, the Royal Flying Doctors facility, and community engagement initiatives.
Over four days, WO navigated restricted areas, obtaining security clearances to film at critical locations like air traffic control, the tarmac, and the runway. The video integrated impactful statistics highlighting the airport’s contribution to the economy and featured tourism footage to foster community connection.

WO have produced corporate brand videos for Adelaide Airport, filming with special access on the tarmac, on planes, and behind security gates.

Outcome
The video premiered on Adelaide Airport’s website and social media, and has been showcased at both local and global corporate presentations, including industry conferences. Staff and stakeholders were excited by the result, echoing the sentiment that “when we connect, anything is possible.” This success led to WO’s ongoing involvement in subsequent video projects, including the next phase of Adelaide Airport’s vision for its business park development.
